What happens when a volcano suddenly erupts in Marble Falls, Texas? Knowing human beings as I do, they’ll probably argue about it. That’s the premise of this exciting action/blockbuster/political-thriller/disaster comedy.
This is an artificially generated concept trailer for a short film. I used a mixture of veo2 and veo3, DALLE and Sora, and Suno for the music. These tools are rapidly growing and improving day-to-day, week-to-week. So, as I’ve been learning how to use them, I’ve literally watched the quality and sophistication evolve from computer-generated looking human faces to extremely realistic ones.
I’ve got to say, as a professionally trained an experienced filmmaker, videographer, and editor, I am freaking out a little bit about the quality of these new tools. But, as a writer, it’s like a whole playground for my imagination. It’s incredible, it’s terrifying, it’s the future, and it’s here.
So, is it time for filmmakers to sell their cameras and lenses and lights and grip equipment and so on, and just buy a mechanical keyboard instead?
